Eglwys Brewis is a village in the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales. It is located just to the north of the village of St Athan, south of Flemingston and northeast of Llantwit Major. Greenlands and St Mary Church lie to the north by road from Eglwys Brewis. The village primarily consists of residential estates which were originally built in the mid 20th century for service families stationed at nearby RAF St Athan. The estates are regularly used by driving instructors in the Vale of Glamorgan. Nant y Stepsau flows in the vicinity. The public transport for the village is served by buses stretching out as west as Bridgend and east as Cardiff. There is 2 pairs of bus stops, Pickeston Close and Pinewood Square. Bus routes are as followed: 303 to Bridgend or Barry. Barry buses continue to Cardiff as service 304, operated by NAT Group. 905 to Cardiff Airport/Rhoose, operated by NAT Group. X91 to Llantwit Major or Cardiff, operated by Cardiff Bus. In July 2013, all but one bus service got cut. EST buses(95, 145(eve) and X45) and Veolia(X5(Sun)) went into administration in January 2013. All service operated by the two companies were all cut across the Vale, Bridgend and Cardiff. NAT Group introduced the service 303 on June 10th, running between Bridgend and Llantwit Major before extending to Barry and Cardiff on July 20th after the removal of the services which had been cut a day earlier on July 19th. Another plot twist affected thousands of people when Cardiff bus announced that they were scrapping there X91 Sunday service and the service to the Airport as a whole to make way for the new airport express bus service T9. This left many passengers who used the X91 to/from the airport. Only a hamlet still in the early 20th century, Eglwys Brewis developed into a dormitory village with housing estates in the mid 20th century to accommodate for service families stationed at nearby RAF St Athan.
